The city of Mbombela has witnessed a large number of employees returning to work on Monday morning after a week-long illegal and unprotected strike that commenced on the 1st of August 2017 and continuing.
This Vision 2030 Strategy is a culmination of various engagements and inputs with role players within and outside of the municipality. The incorporation of the strategy as a long-term framework in the new IDP (2017-2022) will ensure that thedesired future is firmly defined and embedded into the decision-making processes and systems of the City of Mbombela, as well as into the governance arrangements with respect to intergovernmental relations, community participation and stakeholder and investor partnerships.

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 18 and 21 of the Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000 as amended) that the City of Mbombela has formulated Draft Precinct Plans for the White River, The Mbombela CBD, Tekwane Hub, University of Mpumalanga, Mpumalanga Fresh Produce and Hazyview areas, which will serve to guide possible future developments. In developing these precinct plans, the Municipality is requesting input from the public and key stakeholders. The City of Mbombela will be running public participation sessions, which you are invited to learn more about these initiative and provide your suggestions and comments.
Please note that in the interest of administrative action that it is reasonable and procedurally fair, the Land Use management Section if the City Planning Department hereby gives notice that it will implement a prohibition on the placement of all legal notices during the Decemeber holiday season.

The National Department of Tourism through it’s Expanded Public Works Programme in partnership with other stakeholders has an opportunity for young unemployed graduates to be trained as data collectors for the development of a National Tourism Information and Monitoring System.
The City of Mbombela is of the intention to prepare a wall to wall Land Use Scheme in terms of Section 24 of Chapter 5 of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, (Act 16 of 2013) and its regulations. An invitation is herewith made to all interested and affected parties to register in the Municipal Land Use Scheme stakeholder database, that will be consulted throughout the development of the Land Use Scheme.
